Middletown RI, Two strong career women team-up to offer outsourcing solutions for financial, business administrative and IT services for both small businesses and the government. The new company is called Helm Partners, Inc. and will be located at Two Corporate Place in Middletown, RI. One of these women is Molly Donohue Magee who recently completed a 35 year career in the government. Her last assignment was as the Chief Financial Officer for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI, a one billion dollar Department of Navy research and development activity. Her government career included managing product assurance engineering for submarine systems prior to transitioning to senior leadership of the organization where, in addition to CFO, she held positions that included Comptroller and Director of Business Resources. Molly will serve as President of Helm Partners. “I am excited to begin this new career and apply my Government insights to the private sector” said Molly. “Helm’s focus is to provide financial, business administrative, and IT services to government organizations and small businesses. A particular emphasis of the company will be to help our small business customers navigate the business nuances, audit requirements, and strict regulation challenges of DOD contracting, thus allowing them to focus on their prime products and services.”

Molly’s partner is Linda Edwards, who will serve as the CEO of Helm Partners. Linda has spent 27 years in Government contracting for both large public companies as well as small companies involved in the Defense Industry. In 2000, Linda became the CFO and one of the initial founders of Rite-Solutions, Inc., a very successful Aquidneck Island technology company. Prior to that, Linda was CFO of Integrated Performance Decisions (IPD) in Middletown and Interactive Media Corporation (IMC) both subsidiaries of Analysis & Technology, Inc. in Connecticut. She spent 17 years at Analysis & Technology in several of the nationwide locations. “I am pleased to combine my perspectives and competencies with Molly’s to assist small businesses and Government customers” said Linda, “I will be taking many lessons learned to Helm Partners and hope to offer a compelling value proposition to small business entrepreneurs and other cost-conscious clients.”

Both Molly and Linda are active members of several organizations focused on the Defense Industry in RI. These include NCMA (National Contact Management Association), NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association), and SENEDIA (Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance). In addition, they are actively involved with the RI Economic Development Corporation and other RI Small Business agencies. John Cronin, Executive Director of the State’s Small Business Development Center, is encouraged by this new company: "I see great opportunities in the Defense Sector to accelerate our State's economic recovery through small businesses. Given the strict regulations associated with that particular contracting environment, Helm Partners gives the State a powerful new resource to assist RI businesses who want to penetrate that market."
